Crowle Colts FC
A late summer's evening drive away from home for this one, new to the North East Counties League this season, Crowle Colts, the opposition being Brigg Town, so a relative local derby awaited.
The facilities were simple, it's telling that they've just come up to this level, hardly any seating, and standing (uncovered) around two sides only, however it was a clean and tidy little ground and had a bar with indoor seating. that also sold pin badges.
Onto the game and the pitch was as dry as I've seen any pitch for a long time, the grass that was on it was brown and clinging onto life after a long hot summer. Brigg supporters had travelled in numbers as they seem to do both home and away so a good attendance to be expected. Crowle were like lightening out of the starting blocks, two goals to the good after 13 minutes and coasting, Brigg just couldn't seem to get going, however whatever the manager said to them at half time obviously had an effect and they got level with just over 10 minutes to go. However Crowle dug deep and found a winner, Henry Cook bagging his brace, 3-2 the final result and 241 in attendance.
To get to Crowle I would highly recommend driving if possible as its a very rural location, I don't think there is a train station anywhere near and buses, wherever they run from, are limited.
